Features

Abalone Cove Reserve features two beaches (Abalone Cove and Sacred Cove), tide pools, bluff top viewing areas and trails crisscrossing the area.  The 109-acre Preserve contains an official State Marine Conservation Area (SMCA) with important natural marine resources, including tidepools, and the bottom of the Portuguese Bend landslide. Two promontories, Portuguese and Inspiration Points, frame Sacred Cove, black sand and rare plants.

  • 1 Hour Before Sunrise to 1 Hour After Sunset
  • Parking Lot: 9am - 4pm
  • Parking Lot is closed on: January 1, Thanksgiving Day, December 24 and 25
