CALLING ALL LA COUNTY 1st - 12th GRADE STUDENTS!
The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts are recognizing 100 years of protecting public health and the environment. To celebrate, they are having an art contest!
CONTEST HIGHLIGHTS
- Art contest is open to all 1st through 12th grades students in Los Angeles County.
- Submit original artwork that shows your idea of the meaning of this year's theme, "Using Science and Technology to Protect our Waterways.".
- Contest will have three categories: elementary school, middle school, and high school.
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be selected for each category.
PRIZES
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive gift cards of $300, $200, and $100, respectively. The winning artwork will be displayed at the Clearwater Tunnel construction site, as well as on the LA County Sanitation Districts social media and website.
HOW TO ENTER
- Create artwork that shows your idea of the meaning of this year's theme, "Using Science and Technology to Protect our Waterways.".
- The artwork you submit can be a painting or drawing, either created by hand or on a computer.
- Your entry can be letter size (8½" x 11"), tabloid (11" x 17") or in between.
- Your entry must be your original art.
- One entry per student.
- You must be a student in Los Angeles County between grades 1 and 12 to enter.
- Submit your entry between October 2 and November 3, 2023.

SELECTION PROCESS
All contest entrants will be anonymized (given a number). A selection panel from the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts will select the winners, who will be announced in November.
