Pease join us in congratulating Elena Q. Gerli on her appointment to City Attorney of Rancho Palos Verdes!
Ms. Gerli was named City Attorney by the City Council last week following the retirement of former City Attorney Bill Wynder. She served as Assistant City Attorney since 2016, assisting with major endeavors including helping RPV become the first municipality in Los Angeles County to adopt a Natural Communities Conservation Plan/Habitat Conservation Plan, supporting the completion of the City’s General Plan update, sign code, and landslide complex building moratorium, to name a few. Her practice areas include land use and zoning, ethics and open government, housing, First Amendment/constitutional law, and the Coastal Act.
Ms. Gerli is a partner with Aleshire & Wynder, where she is the founder and co-chair of the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) committee. She is Vice President of the Los Angeles City Attorneys Association Board of Directors. She holds a law degree from UCLA, a Bachelor of Arts degree in semiotics from Brown University, and two certificates from Cornell University on the topic of DEI in the workplace.
