[ARCHIVED] Active Shooter Training Drill at Peninsula High School on August 20th

Active Shooter Training

Surrounding residents are advised that there will be an “active shooter” training drill at Peninsula High School, located at 27118 Silver Spur Rd., Rolling Hills Estates, on Monday, August 20th.  This drill is a part of a larger training event from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM for more than 1,000 Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District employees.  The “active shooter” drill is expected to take place between 9:20 AM and 9:45 AM.  There will be firearms firing “blanks” used during this drill.  The Lomita Sheriff's Station, Los Angeles County Fire Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department are aware of and will be participating in the drill.  Residents should not be alarmed by this activity.

Due to the large number of District employees involved in this training, there will be off-site overflow parking provided at Ridgecrest Intermediate School, located at 28915 Northbay Rd., Rancho Palos Verdes.  Shuttle bus service will be provided to and from Peninsula High School for training participants.

Additional information about this training for parents and community members is available on the PVPUSD website at https://www.pvpusd.net/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=1299331&type=d&pREC_ID=1504208.
