[ARCHIVED] Rancho Palos Verdes Leadership Academy

Great Leadership

Looking for Future Rancho Palos Verdes Leaders

All those who want to lead, become involved, explore the opportunities and challenges facing the City, or just to gain knowledge and learn tools to make better, more informed decisions are encouraged to apply to the Rancho Palos Verdes Leadership Academy.

Come join us for an interesting and interactive program about how the City works, and the integral part that elected and appointed officials, residents, and Staff play. Three evening workshops will highlight the functions and responsibilities associated with each major City service area, how decisions are made, how City funds are allocated, and how each department operates. Upon completion, the candidates will receive a leadership certificate from the City and acknowledgement at a City Council meeting.

DATES AND TOPICS: All meetings held on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hesse Park, 29301 Hawthorne Blvd.  Light refreshments will be served.

  • October 10th: Administration/Public Safety/Legal
  • October 24th: Community Development/Recreation & Parks
  • November 7th: Public Works/Finance

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: Current City Committee & Commission members and interested residents are welcome. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Seating is limited to 25 participants on a “first-come, first-served” basis.  Interest forms are available on the City’s website and need to be submitted to Vonetta Augustine no later than 4:30 PM on Friday, September 28th.   Contact Vonetta at vaugustine@rpvca.gov or (310) 544-5204.
