Recreation Flyer Spotlight

The Recreation and Parks Department is excited to offer a variety of outdoor recreation and enrichment activities beginning September 14! The City is committed to providing activities that promote health and wellness and serve the social and emotional needs of the community in a safe environment.

YMCA

After School Recreational Enrichment Program

In partnership with the San Pedro & Peninsula YMCA, the City is offering an After School Recreational Enrichment Program for grades K-5 at various City parks from September 14 - December 18. Activities include individual conditioning physical exercise, sports, games, arts and crafts, enrichment, science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM), recreation, service learning, nature appreciation and so much more, all designed to maintain physical distancing and follow Los Angeles County Department of Public Health protocols. This program will take place Monday – Friday (except where noted) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on school days only. The program is 100% outdoors and will not operate on days with inclement weather. Fees are $100 per week, per child.

Recreation Camps and Classes

The Recreation and Parks Department plans to offer a full menu of contract instructor-led outdoor sports, art, music, and language activities for all ages. Offerings include individual conditioning soccer, baseball, painting, yoga, guitar, cooking, Spanish and more! All activities will be held on-site at outdoor park facilities and will adhere to Los Angeles County Department of Public Health protocols. New activities will be added regularly and class schedules and offerings are subject to change.
