[ARCHIVED] Drive-Thru Household Hazardous Waste/Electronic Waste Roundup May 1

Too Toxic

The County of Los Angeles is holding a Drive-Thru Household Hazardous Waste/Electronic Waste Roundup Event on May 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the City Yard at Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall. This event is open to all L.A. County residents.

If you have old paint (water or oil based), used motor oil and filters or automotive fluids, anti-freeze, pool chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, expired medicine, used sharps (place in a secure and sealed container), batteries (car or household) and fluorescent light bulbs, please bring them in your trunk or truck bed. City Hall is located at 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard.

Due to COVID-19 safety measures, residents must remain in their vehicle and wear a face covering. Event staff will only remove household hazardous and electronic waste from your trunk or truck bed. To dispose of sharps, you will be required to exit your vehicle and dispose of them in a designated area.

Event staff will also accept unwanted electronics such as TVs, printers, computer monitors and CPUs, VCR and DVD players, printers, fax machines, cell phones, microwaves etc.  Find a List of Do’s and Don’ts on the City website.

Please note that the Rancho Caninos Dog Park will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve shuttle will not run on May 1 due to this event.
