Do you have a vision for the future of the Rancho Palos Verdes Civic Center? The City is in the process of developing a master plan to potentially redevelop the Civic Center site on Hawthorne Boulevard, which includes City Hall, Upper Point Vicente Park and the Rancho Caninos Dog Park.
The City is accepting applications to fill one vacancy on the Civic Center Advisory Committee, which serves as a citizen’s advisory board to the City Council advising on the development of the Civic Center Master Plan. The seven-member committee plays a vital role in the public outreach process, financial analysis, layout/boundary concerns, conceptual design, and other related issues. This is a volunteer, non-paying position a with term of office ending in June 2024.
The committee meets on a monthly basis, typically the fourth Thursday of the month, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall. However, due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the committee has been meeting virtually using the Zoom platform.

Those interested in applying must submit an application to the City Clerk’s Office by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 21. Interviews with the City Council are tentatively scheduled to take place on June 1 prior to the regularly scheduled City Council Meeting virtually using the Zoom platform. The City Clerk’s Office will confirm the date and time of the interviews with the applicants.
