[ARCHIVED] Fireworks Strictly Prohibited

Fireworks are Illegal on the Peninsula

In anticipation of the holiday, the cities of Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, and Palos Verdes Estates want remind everyone it is against the law to possess, store, offer for sale, expose for sale, sell at retail, give, furnish, use, or explode any fireworks, including those fireworks defined in the California Health and Safety Code as safe and sane fireworks. Celebrating safely on the Peninsula does not involve using fireworks—and our law enforcement agencies will be on the lookout for those who do.

Fireworks pose a significant fire danger, cause injuries, scare pets and may trigger a response in those with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  Respect your neighbors and obey the law.  DO NOT light fireworks.

To support the Lomita Sheriff’s and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department’s efforts in deterring the use of fireworks, you can call the Lomita Sheriff’s Station to report fireworks in the cities of Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, and Rolling Hills Estates at 310-539-1661. Call PVEPD to report fireworks in Palos Verdes Estates at 310-378-4211.
