[ARCHIVED] Drive-Thru Shredding Event October 23

October 23 Drive-Thru Shredding Event

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes and EDCO are offering a free document/paper shredding event October 23 from 8-11 a.m. in the RPV City Hall overflow parking lot located at 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard.

Bring your sensitive, private and confidential documents (such as pay stubs, medical and insurance records, old income tax returns, and bank/mortgage statements) in your trunk or truck bed for secure on-site shredding to prevent or reduce the possibility of identity theft or fraud. There is a limit of three bankers boxes (approximately 10”x12”x15”) or paper bags per household. Documents with staples or paper clips are acceptable. However, remove all papers from metal three-ring binders. This event is offered free of charge to RPV residents to assist with the destruction of their personal documents. This event is not offered to businesses or residents of other cities. Please bring proof of RPV residency, such as a utility bill or ID.

Due to COVID-19 safety measures, residents must remain in their vehicle and wear a face covering.

UPDATE: This event will now include electronic waste collection and self-serve mulch giveaway.

EDCO will collect electronic waste (computers, TVs, printers, etc.) at the same time and place. This is not a household hazardous waste roundup event, so absolutely no hazardous material, such has paint, expired medicine, fluorescent lights or medical sharps will be accepted.

Free mulch (self-serve, self-load, and self-haul) will be available for residents. Bring your own shovel, gloves and cans for the mulch. There is a maximum of three cans per vehicle.

Please note that due to the shredding event, the Rancho Caninos Dog Park will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
