[ARCHIVED] Traffic Alert: PCH/Hawthorne Blvd. Improvement Project

The City of Torrance continues to perform work at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Hawthorne Boulevard.

The city’s contractor, Griffith Company, will continue to perform work at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Hawthorne Boulevard per the exhibit below over the next two weekends. Significant traffic impacts are expected. Please use alternate routes, when possible. 

Below are the expected traffic impacts for the upcoming work:

Friday, October 7, 8:00 PM through Monday, October 10, 5:00 AM – Phase 4 Weekend Work (red area below)

  • Through traffic will be reduced from 3 lanes to 1 lane in all directions
  • Left-turns will be prohibited in all directions

Friday, October 14, 8:00 PM through Monday, October 17, 5:00 AM – Phase 5 Weekend Work (blue area below)

  • Through traffic will be reduced from 3 lanes to 1 lane in all directions
  • Left-turns will be prohibited in all directions

Ongoing through October 2022

  • Through lanes reduced from 3 lanes to 2 lanes in all directions
  • Left turns from NB and SB Hawthorne Blvd reduced from 2 lanes to 1 lane
