On August 11, the City Council will consider adopting the City of Rancho Palos Verdes Final Draft Housing Element, a document outlining ways the City can meet its state-required 6th Cycle Regional Housing Needs Assessment allocation of accommodating 647 housing units in various income levels for the next planning period of 2021-2029.
The Council will also consider adopting a Negative Declaration, after an Initial Study (IS) determined the Housing Element will not result in significant environmental impacts. This study did not analyze the potential impacts of specific development projects as the Housing Element serves only as a framework. No plans for new development have been submitted and no zoning changes have been made.
The hybrid in-person/virtual meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in McTaggart Hall at Fred Hesse Jr. Community Park and via Zoom. The meeting will be live-streamed on the City website and televised on RPVtv Cox 33/Frontier FiOS 38.
A staff report for this topic, including a copy of the Final Draft Housing Element, will be available by August 5 on the City website at rpvca.gov/agendas. Please submit your comments to the City Council in advance of the meeting by emailing them to cc@rpvca.gov. If you would like to provide comments during the meeting or leave a pre-recorded voice message, please complete a form at rpvca.gov/participate.
