The City of Rancho Palos Verdes is currently conducting a recruitment to fill a special vacancy which will occur on December 5, 2017, on the City’s Finance Advisory Committee. This is a volunteer, non-paying position with an unexpired term of office ending in December 2020.

 

The seven member Finance Advisory Committee provides citizen input to the City Council regarding financial matters of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes. The Committee reviews short and long-term financial information of the City and other financial issues as assigned by the City Council. The Committee may advise the City Council on matters such as the City’s financial condition and recommends specific areas for review to the City Council. The work plan for the Finance Advisory Committee for 2016-17 includes a review of the 2017 Five-Year Financial Model and a review of Portuguese Bend Landflow project. Upon completing review assignments, the Committee may provide its comments and recommendations to the City Council. The Committee will also receive a presentation of the City’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) prepared annually, including the annual independent audit report. The Committee meets on an as-needed basis, as determined by the annual work plan.


Those interested in applying must submit an application to the City Clerk’s Office by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017. To be considered for appointment, an applicant must be a resident of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes. Please submit your completed application to the City Clerk’s department.


Interviews with the City Council are anticipated to take place in January and February prior to the regularly scheduled City Council Meetings. The City Clerk’s Office will confirm the date and time of the interviews with the applicants.
