Rain is coming. Need sandbags to protect your property against runoff?The City of RPV provides empty sandbags and sand for residents to fill and make as needed. Unfilled sandbags are located at the City Hall info desk and are available during regular business hours (7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday). There is a limit of 10 sandbags per household with valid ID or proof of residency. Fill sand is located at City Hall in a designated area for residents to use. Please bring your shovels and tools as they are not provided.  If you need additional bags, they can be purchased at local hardware stores. Share your vision with the City Council and bring important community issues into focus at the City Council Goals Workshop on Monday, February 23, 2026. The workshop will take place at 6 p.m. in McTaggart Hall at Hesse Park and via Zoom. Please note that this workshop will not be broadcast live on RPVtv or live-streamed to the City website or YouTube.  Register for a Zoom link at rpvca.gov/participate. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide South Bay is offering FREE federal and state income tax preparation services to low- to moderate-income taxpayers in RPV.In-person appointments with IRS-trained and certified volunteers at Hesse Park are available on Fridays from February 6-April 10, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. City Hall will be closed on Presidents' Day, Monday, February 16, 2026, but parks will be open for their regular hours. There will be no changes to regularly scheduled residential trash collection or street sweeping due to the holiday. Please obtain a Special Construction Permit by February 13 if you're planning to do construction work on the holiday. Permit details and application requirements (PDF) are available on the City website. Please note that minor repairs, maintenance and landscaping activities (i.e., work that does not otherwise require a building permit) are not prohibited on legal holidays.
