A Message from the City Council

Dear Residents,

In recent weeks, there have been several peaceful demonstrations in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes in response to social injustice and racial inequities in our nation. Additional protests may continue in the foreseeable future. The City Council supports the public’s First Amendment right to assemble, express their opinions and demonstrate peacefully for justice, and recognizes public safety as a critical priority.

We want to assure everyone in our City that the City Council, City staff and the Lomita Sheriff’s Station are monitoring activities in the City, the South Bay and Los Angeles County, and continue to coordinate to ensure the safety of demonstrators, residents, businesses, and motorists during these events. As always, we are confident in our sheriff’s deputies’ ability to provide fair and respectful treatment to all while upholding the highest level of service to protect the public and private property.

The City is committed to keeping you informed and will continue to provide you with updates. For the latest information, follow our social media accounts and subscribe to the Breaking News listserv at rpvca.gov/notify.

Sincerely,

Rancho Palos Verdes City Council
