Gerald Desmond Bridge Traffic to Close this Weekend
The Gerald Desmond Bridge in the Port of Long Beach will be closed for the October 2-4 weekend to allow construction crews to switch lanes over to the new cable-stayed bridge and enable an opening of the new route by the morning of Monday, October 5. The lane switchover is the final major construction detour for the new bridge project. Find detour information at bit.ly/33bKhWo.
Be sure to tune in this Friday, October 2 at 10 a.m. for a live virtual opening ceremony at NewGDBridge.com. Due to coronavirus restrictions, there will not be a ceremony open to public attendance. For details, visit bit.ly/33danbC.
