Donate Local This Holiday Season
The City of Rancho Palos Verdes encourages you to donate local this holiday season. Read below to find out how you can contribute to Toys for Tots, Operation Teddy Bear, PVPUSD’s food drive, and senior groups on the Peninsula. Thank you for your generosity and we wish you a safe and happy holiday season.
Toys for Tots
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots drive is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department, with other community partners, is seeking donations for the Spark of Love campaign benefitting Toys for Tots. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and devastating wildfires, it is anticipated that this year’s requests for toys will be greater than ever! This year, the Spark of Love Toy Drive is transitioning to a virtual platform and is accepting donations online. To donate, visit myregistry.com/giftlist/sparkoflove.
Operation Teddy Bear
The Volunteer Center’s Operation Teddy Bear provides schoolbags, educational materials and wellness tools to every first grade student at select schools in the South Bay and Harbor Area each year. The program focuses on social and emotional wellness for youths in the community.
Monetary donations can be made online at volcenter.org/donate-main and donations of unopened, individually-packaged toothbrushes and toothpaste can be dropped off or mailed to the Volunteer Center’s Torrance office at 1230 Cravens Avenue, Torrance, CA 90501.
PVPUSD School District
The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District is collecting donations of non-perishables, canned goods, and gift cards to grocery stores at its Malaga Cove District Office and District Warehouse from December 7-17.
