Wind Advisory and Potential Service Outages

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory through 4 a.m. January 20, with northeast winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 50 mph expected.

Cox Communications advises that areas with aerial plant and a high concentration of trees, especially eucalyptus trees, such as the Palos Verdes Drive East area, are at a high risk of experiencing extended service outages. Power lines may also be impacted. While Cox will have extra staff available to respond to outages, Cox’s safety protocols require that power is restored before crews can safely restore internet service.
