Catalytic Converter Theft Prevention Event 4/24 9am-1pm

Catalytic Converter Etching Event April 24

Catalytic converter thefts are on the rise in RPV. Help prevent them by etching your vehicle identification number (VIN) onto your catalytic converter.

This Saturday, April 24 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., the Lomita Sheriff’s Station is teaming up with the City of Lomita and the Van Lingen Group to etch catalytic converters with a unique identifying number free of charge. While the etching may not prevent your catalytic converter from being stolen, it will provide law enforcement with valuable information should it be stolen and later located during subsequent investigations.

The event will be open to all residents of the Lomita Station’s service area, including Rancho Palos Verdes.  Visit Lomita City Hall at 24300 Narbonne Avenue, Lomita for this free event.

To get your etching, you must bring your driver's license and a copy of your vehicle's registration. Prior registration is not necessary! Please direct any questions to Lomita City Hall at (310) 325-7110.
