What to Expect on June 15
On June 15, the state will be lifting most capacity limits and distancing restrictions at businesses, and L.A. County will align with the state in order to allow businesses to fully reopen. Specific requirements will continue for large capacity events, schools, day cares, day camps, high-risk congregate settings and health care facilities. The county will also follow the state on lifting current travel restrictions on June 15 to align with CDC travel recommendations. Businesses must comply with all Cal/OSHA requirements at worksites past the June 15 reopening.
L.A. County will align with the state's masking guidance that reflects CDC recommendations and prevents transmission at higher risk settings. Masks will not be required for fully vaccinated individuals, except in the following settings where masks are required for everyone, regardless of vaccination status: - On public transit (examples: airplanes, ships, ferries, trains, subways, buses, taxis, and ride-shares) and in transportation hubs (examples: airport, bus terminal, marina, train station, seaport or other port, subway station, or any other area that provides transportation)
- Indoors in K-12 schools, childcare and other youth settings.
- Note: This may change as updated K-12 schools guidance is forthcoming, pending updates for K-12 operational guidance from the CDC.
- Healthcare settings (including long term care facilities)
- State and local correctional facilities and detention centers
- Homeless shelters, emergency shelters and cooling centers
Masks will be required for unvaccinated individuals in indoor public settings and businesses (examples: retail, restaurants, theaters, family entertainment centers, meetings, state and local government offices serving the public). L.A. County masking guidance will be amended to reflect the changes effective June 15. For more information, visit ph.lacounty.gov/coronavirus.Masks in the Workplace
Employers and workplaces must continue to comply with Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Prevention Emergency Temporary Standards.
Last night, the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board withdrew revisions to the standards that would have allowed fully vaccinated employees without COVID-19 symptoms to go without masks indoors only if everyone else in one room is also fully vaccinated and not showing symptoms. In light of the new state masking guidance, which won’t require masks for fully vaccinated people in most public settings, the board is now set to revisit workplace masking rules as early as June 17. Without updated standards, that means all employees must continue to wear masks indoors, even after June 15.

CDPH Urges Public to Report Vaccine Incentive Scammers
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is asking Californians to be aware of and to quickly report any indications of possible fraudulent or other questionable activities by individuals attempting to take advantage of the state's recently announced COVID-19 vaccination incentive programs.
The first cash prize drawing of $116.5 million Vax for the Win incentives program kicked off on June 4 to motivate residents to get vaccinated before the state's reopening on June 15. Following the drawing, members of the public notified the state of scammers impersonating state officials through calls, email, text, and direct messages on social media.
If you encounter a possible vaccine incentive scam, please email rumors@cdph.ca.gov or call the Vax for the Win incentives hotline at 1-833-993-3873.
Here are the facts about the state's program: - There is no process for entry in the Vax for the Win program. All vaccinated individuals are automatically entered.
- Winners can decline the prize and/or remain anonymous. The privacy of winners is protected. Only CDPH knows the identity of the person associated with the random number drawn.
- Winners will be notified by CDPH officials through an official "State of CA CDPH" caller and text ID, a CDPH email address, or in person by CDPH staff.
- Winners will not be asked to pay any fees associated with verifying eligibility for the cash prize.
- Winners will not be asked to provide their bank information.
- CDPH will email winners an official state government form to be awarded their winnings. A check will be mailed to the winner by the State Controller's Office.
For reliable information and details of the Vax for the Win program, please visit covid19.ca.gov/vax-for-the-win. Click here to view the Terms and Conditions of the program.

COVID-19 Vaccine FAQs: Can I get a digital vaccination record? The CDC vaccination record card or CAIR record is your official proof of your COVID-19 vaccination. You may receive a digital record in addition to your white card as a convenience, but it may not be accepted at all places/companies as the official proof of vaccination. Several different kinds of digital reminders and records are being used in Los Angeles County. The type depends on the record keeping system used by the provider who administered the vaccine. Most systems require the person being vaccinated to give an email address and/or cell phone number when they make an appointment or get vaccinated. Ask your provider when you get your vaccine about a digital record. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has partnered with Healthvana to provide a digital copy of the vaccination record to people who are vaccinated at Department of Public Health locations, select community clinics (that are not part of a hospital system), pharmacies or FEMA sites in the County. For more information on Healthvana and electronic records, see the DPH “ After you get a vaccine” webpage.
