Fourth of July Reminders
City Hall offices will be closed to the public in observance of Independence Day on Monday, July 5, but staffed City parks will be open for their regular posted hours.
Please note that the Rancho Caninos Dog Park will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 4 due to the City's Fourth of July Concert in the Park Celebration.
There will be no changes in residential trash collection during the week of July 5-9, but there will be no street sweeping on Monday, July 5. The Monday route will be swept on Wednesday, July 7.
Please obtain a Special Construction Permit by this Thursday, July 1 if you're planning to do construction work on the holiday. The permit application is available at bit.ly/3oVBLTv.
Please note that minor repairs, maintenance and landscaping activities (i.e., work that does not otherwise require a building permit) are not prohibited on legal holidays. For additional information, please contact the Community Development Department at 310-544-5228 or planning@rpvca.gov.
Finally, fireworks are illegal in Rancho Palos Verdes. Fireworks pose a significant fire danger, cause injuries, scare pets and may trigger a response in those with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Respect your neighbors and obey the law. DO NOT light fireworks. Call the Lomita Sheriff’s Station to report fireworks at 310-539-1661.
Have a safe and happy holiday weekend!
