COVID-19 Update: Vaccine Boosters Now Available to Anyone Ages 18+
California has expanded eligibility for COVID-19 vaccine booster shots to everyone ages 18+.
If you received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine:
The L.A. County Department of Public Health recommends booster doses for everyone age 18 and older who received their second dose at least 6 months ago. Booster doses are strongly recommended if you are:
If you are moderately to severely immunocompromised and have already received your third dose, you should consider getting a booster dose (this would be six months after your third dose). Talk with your doctor.
If you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine:
The L.A. County Department of Public Health strongly recommends booster shots for everyone who was vaccinated two or more months ago.
Can I get a different vaccine for my booster dose?
You may choose which vaccine you receive as a booster dose. It can be a booster dose of Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J COVID-19 vaccine. Talk to your doctor if you have questions about the risks and benefits of a booster or about which vaccine to get as a booster.
