COVID-19 Update: Vaccine Boosters Now Available to Anyone Ages 16+
COVID-19 vaccine providers in L.A. County are now administering Pfizer booster doses to children 16 and 17 years old after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle P. Walensky affirmed the recommendation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to expand the booster eligibility.
Since vaccine effectiveness wanes over time, the L.A. County Department of Public Health is encouraging residents to get boosted as soon as they are eligible, especially as we prepare for the winter and the potential circulation of Omicron.
For information on when you should get a booster, what kind you can get, and information on additional doses for immunocompromised persons, see Public Health's Eligibility Summary Table (PDF).
