Traffic Safety Committee Applications due January 25
Reminder: Applications are due tomorrow, January 25, for one vacancy on the Traffic Safety Committee. This is a volunteer, non-paying position with a term of office ending in June 2024.
The five-member Traffic Safety Committee serves as a public forum for traffic-related issues, including placement of traffic control devices, consideration of traffic-calming solutions, safety-related tools and posted speed limits.The committee will also provide comments and recommendations to the City Council regarding the Circulation Element of the General Plan Update, permit parking in coastal zones and roadway safety relating to multi-modal use of the public rights-of-way.
The Traffic Safety Committee generally meets on the fourth Monday of every other month at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall. However, due to COVID-19, the committee currently meets via Zoom only.

Those interested in applying must submit an application to the City Clerk’s Office by 4:30 p.m. on January 25, 2022. To be considered for appointment, an applicant must be a resident of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes. To apply, please visit the Advisory Board Recruitment page on the City website. Interviews with the City Council are tentatively scheduled to take place on February 1, 2022 prior to the regularly scheduled City Council meeting via Zoom. The City Clerk’s Office will confirm the date and time of the interviews with the applicants.
