Novavax COVID-19 Vaccine Now Available for Ages 12+

Novavax’s COVID-19 vaccine is now authorized as another option for ages 12 and older. Unlike the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, the Novavax vaccine does not use mRNA technology. The technology used in the Novavax vaccine has been used for more than 30 years in the United States, beginning with the first licensed hepatitis B vaccine. The Novavax vaccine is a two-dose primary series, with the second dose administered three to eight weeks after the first. Boosters are currently not recommended.

Novavax vaccine is now available at L.A. County Department of Public Health vaccination pods in L.A. County. Find a location at ph.lacounty.gov/vaccinepods.
