City Council Meeting Highlights

Last night, the City Council authorized the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to enforce provisions of the California Vehicle Code on the private roads owned and maintained by the Portuguese Bend Community Association to address issues such as speeding and illegal parking.
 
The Council also voted to continue the City's membership in Cal Cities, an association of cities throughout the state, but to revisit whether to remain a member in one year. In the meantime, Staff will send a letter urging the organization to modify its voting procedures and to take stronger actions to protect local control.
