City Council Meeting Highlights

Last night, the City Council took no action on the Palos Verdes Historical Society’s proposal to build a museum to house its collection of artifacts. The Council expressed that Lower Point Vicente does not appear to be the Council’s preferred location, and that the other Peninsula cities should be involved in the process. There are no plans to revisit the proposal at this time.

The Council reviewed home fire insurance policy renewal data for RPV, which showed an overall upward trend in both voluntary and involuntary non-renewals in recent years. Tips for finding insurance are available on the City website at rpvca.gov/emergency.

The Council also approved sending a letter to the U.S. Coast Guard and federal legislators expressing the City’s continued interest in acquiring both the Point Vicente Lighthouse and Battery Barnes WWII-era bunker properties.
