Public Hearing for Portuguese Bend Landslide Remediation Project Draft EIR March 21

On March 21, the City Council will hold a public hearing to solicit feedback on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the proposed Portuguese Bend Landslide Remediation Project, a $33 million public works project that aims to significantly slow the continuously moving landslide. The hearing will include a presentation of the findings of the Draft EIR, an informational report that studies how a proposed major construction project could affect the environment.

The hybrid in-person/virtual meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in McTaggart Hall at Hesse Park and via Zoom. Watch live on the City website or on RPVtv Cox 33/Frontier FiOS 38.

A staff report for the public hearing will be available on the City website. Share your comments on the Draft EIR by emailing them to publicworks@rpvca.gov. If you would like to speak during the public hearing or leave a pre-recorded voice message, please complete a form at rpvca.gov/participate. 

The Draft EIR is available on the City website and at Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall, the Miraleste Library, and the Peninsula Center Library. The deadline to comment is 4:30 p.m. on April 14.
