City Council Meeting Highlights

On June 6, the City Council heard a presentation from SCE on its short-term and long-term action plan for correcting power outage issues in the Grandview Estates neighborhood.

SCE shared that it has completed inspections to proactively remove any vegetation in the right-of-way and near power lines; replaced 1,500 feet of wire with a covered conductor to mitigate a potential outage caused by falling debris or vegetation; installed six sets of fuses; and is proposing the installation of Remote Automatic Reclosers (RARs), which would isolate an outage to the smallest area possible.

SCE noted that infrastructure upgrades will require planned outages. A progress update will be provided to the City Council on August 1.

The Council also voted not to charge property owners an assessment this year for the Citywide Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District due to sufficient funds and to provide relief to residents at a time when prices in various areas of the economy continue to rise.
