Traffic Alert: Ongoing Roadwork Along Silver Spur Road North of Hawthorne Boulevard

Crews have begun an ongoing construction project rehabilitating Silver Spur Road north of Hawthorne Boulevard, which is planned to conclude by July 16 to allow school activities to resume as scheduled. The work will require partial lane closures and will take place from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Expect delays and consider an alternate route. Staff coordinated the construction schedule with the Palos Verdes Peninsula High School administration to minimize impacts on school operations during construction. Accordingly, summer school is not being held at PVPHS this year, and sports activities will be limited to practices only. The project includes replacing damaged sidewalk and curb, upgrading curb ramps, replacing the top layer of asphalt, and replacing street signs and pavement markings.
