We are excited to announce an essential community event aimed at safeguarding your vehicles and deterring catalytic converter theft in our neighborhood. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Lomita Station, in collaboration with Torrance Auto Repair and Van Lingen Towing, is hosting a FREE Catalytic Converter Etching Event on July 29, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ken Dyda Civic Center, located at 30940 Hawthorne Blvd. in Rancho Palos Verdes.
Catalytic converter theft has become a significant concern nationwide, and our community is not immune to this growing trend. Thieves target catalytic converters due to their valuable precious metals, ease of theft, and the absence of identifying markings. This lack of identification makes it challenging to trace stolen converters, making it difficult to hold criminals accountable.
The Catalytic Converter Etching Event offers a simple yet highly effective solution to protect your vehicle. By etching a unique identification number onto your catalytic converter, it becomes less attractive to thieves and easier to trace back to its rightful owner. Additionally, it enhances the chances of successful prosecution should a thief be caught with stolen converters.
Participating in this event is a proactive step towards safeguarding your investment and contributing to a safer community for everyone. The process is quick, and it provides peace of mind knowing that you have taken important measures to secure your vehicle.
