Discover Project LifeSaver

Join us for a special informational meeting this Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Hesse Park. We're thrilled to present Project Lifesaver, a remarkable initiative focused on the safety of seniors. Learn how this innovative program utilizes advanced technology to protect and assist seniors dealing with memory impairments. No registration is required, so come and explore how Project Lifesaver is making a difference in the lives of our seniors. Don't miss out on this informative session!

Project Lifesaver is a compassionate and innovative initiative designed to provide an extra layer of safety and security for seniors. This program recognizes the unique challenges faced by elderly individuals, particularly those dealing with memory impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Through the use of advanced tracking technology, Project Lifesaver helps ensure the well-being of seniors by providing real-time monitoring and rapid response capabilities.

Seniors who participate in Project Lifesaver wear a discreet, lightweight tracking device that is easily worn as a bracelet or anklet. These devices utilize GPS and radio frequency technology, allowing caregivers and emergency responders to quickly locate participants if they go missing. In cases where a senior with cognitive impairments wanders or becomes disoriented, Project Lifesaver's specialized tools aid in locating them promptly, reducing the risk of potential harm.

The program goes beyond just technology, fostering a sense of community and support for both seniors and their families. Trained professionals work closely with caregivers to ensure the proper use of the tracking devices and offer guidance on best practices for keeping seniors safe. Project Lifesaver embodies a proactive approach to safeguarding seniors, providing peace of mind for families and caregivers while empowering seniors to maintain their independence and dignity.

LA Found Staff will provide a short presentation and can assist individuals with completing their application.  For more information about the program visit https://lafound.lacounty.gov/tracking-technology/
