City Council Meeting Highlights

Highlights from the August 15 City Council meeting:

• The Council voted to draft a letter to the state Legislature opposing ACA 10, a proposed ballot measure that would declare housing a fundamental right in California, which could impose legal obligations on cities.
• The Council decided to proceed with seeking the services of a development consultant to start a capital campaign to help fund major City projects, including a new Civic Center.
• The Council voted to move forward with final engineering plans for the Portuguese Bend Landslide Remediation Project while determining if modifications can be made to the project design based on public feedback on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR). A Final EIR could be released in mid-2024.
