City Council Meeting HighlightsHighlights from the October 3 City Council meeting: - The Council declared a local emergency in response to accelerated land movement in the City’s landslide complex, which will bolster the City’s ongoing response and allow staff to request state and federal assistance. To help minimize additional movement, the Council adopted an urgency ordinance putting a moratorium on new construction in the landslide complex, which must be approved by the California Department of Housing and Community Development before it can be enforced.
- As an alternative to proposed traffic diverters, the Council approved installing traffic circles to prevent speeding at the intersections of Avenida Classica and Avenida Esplendida as well as Avenida Classica and Avenida Celestial.
