Youth Mental Health Summit January 27
The L.A. County Office of Violence Prevention is hosting a Youth Mental Health Summit for the South Bay region on January 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ken Miller Recreation Center in Torrance.
Youth attendees will learn to recognize common mental health challenges, identify and develop strategies to create a supportive network in their homes, schools, and communities, and participate in a community resource and activity fair with local mental health partners. Additionally, youth will partake in mindfulness practices, hear from county leaders, and leave with tangible mental health guides, workbooks, and tools.
Sessions will be facilitated by staff from the L.A. County Department of Mental Health, L.A. County Department of Public Health, Teenline (a program of Didi Hirsch), the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and more. Youth will also be eligible for community service hours and will each receive a gift card.
