It's Wildfire Preparedness Week! Have you hardened your home against wildfire?

May 4-10, 2025, is Wildfire Preparedness Week. Is your home wildfire ready?

As January’s wildfires reminded us, it is critical to take steps to prevent and prepare for wildfire. Take time to educate yourself on the following tips and best practices to safeguard your home and prepare your family.

1. Harden your home with fire-resistant material and equipment.

2. Prevent wildfire spread by creating defensible space and using landscaping techniques to protect your home from wildfires.

3. Be prepared to evacuate.

  • Know Your Zone. Search your address to find your emergency zone at PVPready.gov. During an emergency, such as a wildfire or flood, the website will be updated in real time with your zone's current status.
