City Council Meeting Highlights

Highlights from the September 16, 2025 City Council meeting:

• The Council renewed for 60 days the local emergencies in the landslide area and the temporary prohibition of motorcycles and bicycles along a two-mile stretch of Palos Verdes Drive South. 
• The Council authorized SCE to relocate its temporary power pole at Ladera Linda Community Park onto a city easement adjacent to the Park and behind homes on Dauntless Drive. Though the City preferred undergrounding the line, this overhead configuration will ensure continued electrical service for the approximately 40 homes who lost power due to the land movement. 
• The Council received and filed the first quarter progress update on the FY 2025-26 City Council Goals that include 15 major projects ranging from landslide remediation to building an emergency operations center.
