Container Ship Fire Update

On November 21, 2025, at 11:21 p.m., the City of Los Angeles Fire Department issued a Shelter-in-Place Order impacting San Pedro and Wilmington due to a HazMat incident resulting from a nearby container ship fire at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. Some Palos Verdes Peninsula residents may have received an erroneous emergency alert from LAFD. However, there is no Shelter-in-Place Order for the Peninsula at this time.
