City Council Meeting HighlightsHighlights from the December 2, 2025 City Council meeting: - Outgoing Mayor Dave Bradley was honored for his second term as Mayor during a year marked by a dramatic reduction in landslide movement, a vision to bring new life to the disassembled Wayfarers Chapel, and initiatives strengthening wildfire and emergency preparedness.
- Paul Seo was selected as the next Mayor and Steve Perestam was named Mayor Pro Tem.
- City staff gave a report on a list of street and park beautification projects throughout RPV that have been requested by the community over the years.
- Street beautification projects along Western Avenue, Hawthorne Boulevard and Palos Verdes Drive South are estimated to cost from approximately $2 million to $3 million per mile, with a total need of approximately 10 miles.
- Improvements to lower Hesse Park adjacent to Locklenna Drive are estimated to cost approximately $650,000.
- Given the City’s current infrastructure priorities, the Council opted not to take action on any of the proposed projects at this time, but to keep them in mind when developing the Capital Improvement Program during next fiscal year’s budget development process.
