A Code Enforcement Officer will contact you to discuss your concerns and answer any questions. We kindly ask to give a minimum of 10 business days after filing a complaint.
The Code Enforcement Division do take anonymous complaints. Our complaint process is confidential. Please not that if the information is incorrect or insufficient, the investigation may be hindered and we will be unable to contact you.

A recipient of an administrative citation may file an appeal. However, a request for a hearing letter must be written and returned to the City along with an payment of the fine within 30 days of the issuance of the cite.
Within Thirty (30) calendar days of issuance, you may contest the violation. Send your written request for an Administrative Hearing to the address below. Your written request must include the following information: citation number, full name, mailing address, and day-time phone number. At least Twenty (20) calendar days prior to the date scheduled for the Administrative Hearing, the City will notify you by mail of the exact time, date, and location of the Administrative Hearing.
Administrative hearings are intended to be informal in nature. Formal rules of the California Evidence Code and discovery shall not apply.
Failure to pay fines with Thirty (30) calendar days of issuance or to contest the citation within Thirty (30) calendar days of issuance will cause the PENALTY FINE to be added.
The administrative hearing officer shall assess against the responsible person administrative costs for any violation found to exist, or for any violation which was not timely corrected. The administrative costs include any and all costs incurred by the city in connection with prosecuting the violation, including, but not limited to, investigation costs, staffing costs for preparing and conducting the administrative hearing, and costs for all inspections necessary to enforce the compliance order and the administrative order. The administrative order shall specify the date by which the costs must be paid to the city.
