   The City of Rancho Palos Verdes was incorporated on September 7, 1973. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, a year of celebrations will begin on September 7, 2022, culminating in a grand celebration on September 9, 2023. The 50th anniversary celebration will embody the rich history of how a group of residents sought local control and embraced cultural and historic preservation and community civic engagement to form the City of Rancho Palos Verdes.
