    Please note:

    Refunds are regulated by the California Building Code (CBC) which reads: "Under Section 107.6, CBC, the building official may authorize refunding of not more than 80 percent of the permit inspection fee paid when no work has been done under the permit.

    To request a refund of a paid inspection fee, please submit an application within 180 days of the payment date. Only applications from the original permittee will be considered."


    • If Plan Check has been reviewed, Plan Check fees are non-refundable. 

    • The Issuance & SMIP Fee's is non-refundable

    • If an inspection has been scheduled, the inspection fees are non-refundable.

  3. Please be advised that a qualifying refund will be made payable to the original payer on record.

    Your request will not be processed without the completed Permit Refund Request form, proof or letter of cancellation, and receipt. Please allow 2-3 weeks for a refund check by mail.
