Regional Contract Law Committee
The Cities of Rancho Palos Verdes (RPV), Rolling Hills Estates (RHE), and Rolling Hills (RH) established a Peninsula Regional Law Enforcement Contract with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) in 1981. Subsequently, the three agencies created the Regional Contract Law Committee (RCLC) to oversee the contract.
The RCLC consists of two councilmembers that are appointed from each of the three cities. The three cities rotate responsibility for chairing the meetings and preparing the agendas.
The committee meets every quarter to review the Sheriff’s performance, make policy recommendations regarding the Regional Contract, review statistics for the preceding quarter concerning crime incidents, traffic enforcement, response times, false alarm rates and the distribution of the Sheriff’s patrol time throughout the region.
The Committee also reviews the response statistics for the Fire Department’s contract ambulance service.
Meetings
- 8 a.m., immediately following the Peninsula Public Safety Committee meeting at 7:30 a.m.
