City Hall is open to the public during regular business hours. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, visitors are required to wear face coverings and adhere to physical distancing guidelines. Some employees are working on rotation and may be working remotely. If you need to visit City Hall, please schedule an appointment in advance by calling the appropriate department and follow all posted directions during your visit. No Construction on Thursday, November 11, 2021 (Legal Holiday)

Pursuant to Section 17.56.020(B) of the Rancho Palos Verdes Municipal Code, it is unlawful to carry on construction, grading, or landscaping activities, or to operate heavy equipment except between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, and between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. on Saturday. No such activity shall be permitted on Sundays, or the legal holidays listed below right (within the city’s permitted construction hours), unless a Special Construction Permit is approved by the Community Development Director. Virtual Planning Counter Hours

Representatives from the Planning Division are also available to provide virtual assistance and answer project-level questions. 

Virtual Planning Counter Hours are available Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed noon to 1:00).

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Services

Plans and application materials may be dropped off or picked via a designated location outside of the Community Development Department. 

It is recommended that such services be coordinated with your Project Planner or designated staff member.

The purpose of the Community Development Department is to ensure the orderly physical development of the community by upholding the goals and policies of the city’s General Plan through the issuance of land use entitlements and permits for improvements and development of private property.
